Whether you are an experienced walker or simply someone who enjoys a leisurely stroll, at Luxury Group Stay, we recommend some of the most popular walking trails around Ceredigion that are perfect for advanced and novice hikers. Ceredigion is known for its natural beauty, making it one of the best places to visit if you enjoy spending time in nature, with places such as Borth beach, Clarach beach and Aberystwyth beach!
If you are someone who likes to spend all day exploring outside, then the Ceredigion Coast Path is one that we would recommend, as this route takes you all the way from Aberystwyth to Ynyslas, meaning you get to see the majority of Ceredigion’s coastline! With an estimated time of 4 hours and a length of around 16 kilometres, this point-to-point walk might not be the most challenging, but the length makes it fantastic for a day out. The best times to visit this trail are from March to October, as this will be when the weather is at its best, offering some wonderful walking conditions. If the conditions are wet and windy, make sure to walk with care as the walking surface could be slippery and muddy. As this is a point-to-point walk, we would recommend that visitors who are staying in one of the luxury accommodations in Ceredigion walk halfway through the walk and turn around, making the walk circular.
For those who prefer circular walks, Cwm Rheidol Circular might be one of the best options. This trail is incredibly popular for hiking, running, and walking. With an estimated time of 2 and a half hours, this 8.5-kilometre walk includes beautiful views of farm animals, lakes, and even a waterfall. Located near Ponterwyd, this trail takes you past wonderful and magical forests such as Coed Y Neuadd and Coed Dolfawr, making this walk one of a kind throughout Ceredigion. Whilst the trail is not a particularly short walk, it is still known as a nice and easy trail with not many hills, meaning it is suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear as some parts of the trail can get quite muddy and wetter during certain months outside of summer.

With long walks not being for everyone, there are plenty of shorter routes available throughout Ceredigion, which are suited to novice walkers who simply want to experience the natural sights of Ceredigion. One of the best short walks in all of Wales can be found through Ceredigion, which is the Devil’s Bridge Falls Nature Trail, which can be found near Aberystwyth. Whilst the elevation gain can be quite challenging, the walk is only 1 kilometre, the route takes around half an hour. The beautiful route in Devil’s Bridge leads visitors through this steep wooded gorge within the Cambrian Mountains. Yet the challenge comes from the incline, as there are 675 steep steps that lead you up and down the gorge for breathtaking views of the tall Mynach waterfall. The path is uneven, and you may find it strenuous at times, making it unsuitable for those who struggle with steps and heights. There is an alternative 15-minute walk from where you can view the famous three bridges, built one on top of the other.
Finally, for those looking to make the most of the group accommodations in Wales, Lady’s Walk is another short circular walk which allows you to encounter many of the wonderful sights that Ceredigion has to offer. With a total time of around 1 hour and 20 minutes, this 4-kilometre walk allows for spectacular views of Peiran Falls, Pwll Pendre and lovely gardens such as Mariamne’s Garden and Mrs. Johnes’ Garden.
