Whether you are looking for a quick short walk to get outdoors, or maybe you are looking to spend your day hiking up hills and mountains, then the Yorkshire Dales is one of the best places to visit. At Luxury Group Stay, we not only offer some of the best luxury accommodations in England, but we also look to advise and guide visitors through their stay with some of the best attractions and walking routes available in the area.

For those who are looking to challenge themselves and see as much of the Yorkshire Dales as they can, the challenging route of the Yorkshire Three Peaks is famed not only for its toughness but also for its impressive views. In this three-peaks route, experienced walkers will be climbing Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough over 37 kilometres or 23 miles. For those who are looking to take on this challenge, they must complete it in under 12 hours, so it is only recommended for the more experienced walkers. If you are a casual stroller and do not want to miss out, then you can still look to climb up the mountains, make sure you do them at your own pace and give yourself plenty of time to make it up and down the mountain.

If 23 miles sounds like too much for you, then the Ribblehead Viaduct and Whernside route might be more your style. An 8-mile circular route to the summit of Whernside will usually take just under 4 hours, and it is filled with hills, streams, waterfalls and even pubs which are perfect for a halfway stop. The Ribblehead Viaduct circular walk actually follows the Three Peaks walk for most of its route, initially following alongside the Settle to Carlisle railway line before heading up on the path towards Dent. With the route steepening throughout, this walk is still a fairly decent challenge for novice walkers, but as the walk is circular, it allows you to make a short journey back to the parking area at the end.

The Yorkshire Dales is one of the best places to visit throughout the United Kingdom, and if you are looking for more attractions to visit whilst on your luxury holiday here, check out our things to do in the Yorkshire Dales guide available on site.

Walking In The Yorkshire Dales | Short Walks In The Yorkshire Dales Luxury Group Stay

Whilst long walks might not be for everyone, there are plenty of short walks that are available throughout the Yorkshire Dales, which let you experience the very best of what the area has to offer. For example, the Malham Cove route is one of the most special walks, which takes around one hour to complete. This 3.4 kilometres walk is generally considered an easy route, and it is full of top sights such as Malham Cove, which is a cliffside, Chapel Garden and Malhamdale valley. For those who enjoy spending their time in nature, the Malham Cove walk is one of the reasons why visitors look for group accommodations in the Yorkshire Dales.

Stainforth and Catrigg Force is one of the most impressive short walks in the Yorkshire Dales, with the walk taking just over an hour to complete, with 3.7 kilometres to walk. With the walk being a loop, it is an incredibly simple and convenient route, which is best to visit between the months of July and October. The awe-inspiring Catrigg Force waterfall is visible on this walk, and it is no surprise that this journey is one of the most popular throughout the area. It is important to take care on the path near the edge of the waterfall as there are steep drops nearby, and the surface can be slippery if there is bad weather.
