The Old Vicarage, Northumberland, Ovingham

With lovely views over the river, this gorgeous 10-bed house in Ovingham village comes with a hot tub, a bar area and a terrace. There’s also a garden, barbecue bits, free Wi-Fi and private parking.

The place has 10 bedrooms, a kitchen with a fridge and oven, a flat-screen telly, a comfy seating area and six bathrooms with showers. Towels and bed linen are all included. The house has actually been welcoming guests since 1370, which is pretty amazing.

It’s a friendly, spacious and chilled-out spot to get together with friends and family. Tucked away behind a stone wall so you can properly switch off, but still right in the village and only a few minutes’ walk from a shop and a cracking pub that does great food.

Our family has owned the house for the past 40 years. It was originally gifted to the Church in 1919 as a memorial to their son who was lost in the First World War in 1915.

The White Swan pub in Ovingham is just a couple of minutes’ stroll away, with a beer garden and great food and drink. It can get very busy, so it’s worth booking ahead.

The house is about 9.3 miles from the MetroCentre and 11.2 miles from the Utilita Arena. Newcastle train station is 11.2 miles away, and Newcastle International Airport is also around 11.2 miles from the house.
