The Canopy, Cumbria, Coniston

An inviting and friendly house perfect for individuals, couples or large groups of nature lovers. Most of the house was built in the late 18 century from its own oak trees and local stone. The early craftsmanship can still be seen coupled with modern comforts. It is set in its own grounds with extensive parking facilities, large gardens and sitting areas.

The natural rock garden, large gardens to the side and of course the beech trees make this a very attractive spot.

The whole house is at your disposal – 10 bedrooms. This will sleep 16. Up to 20 people can be accommodated but only if we know the group very well or they have very good references from other rental accommodation. 16 people also give single room options. The house is not really fitting for larger numbers than 16 as then the kitchen and lounges will be a bit too small for this number of guests. The dining room can seat 16 to 20 people.

Things to note

Situated just as you come into Coniston on the road from Ambleside. It is at the end of the main street opposite the bowling green, tennis courts and cricket ground. It is a large white house, with a huge beech tree in front. (hence the name) An extensive drive in area is situated on the left hand side of this street.

Possible for extra people (up to 20) but this needs to be made very clear and may involve an extra charge.
