Northcott Farmhouse, Cornwall, Bude

Lower Northcott is a stunning Georgian farmhouse, set on our working farm at Northcott and within walking distance of the beautiful North Cornish beach of Northcott Mouth. With breathtaking views throughout, the property sleeps 17 and is the perfect place for a family reunion or celebration. The house has nine bedrooms – including an annexe with a double bedroom and snug for anyone in your party who wants a bit of added privacy – two lounges, wood-burning stoves, and a heated cellar with a pool table. Outside there is a large secure enclosed garden with a children’s play area, raised patio and a more sheltered outside dining area with charcoal BBQ in summer months from where guests can take in the view down to the local beach of Northcott Mouth which is only a mile’s walk down our private farm lane.

The Farmhouse features a sprawling enclosed garden plus hot tub in which to relax and unwind at the end of each day. The village pub, the “Preston Gate Inn” ) is also just under 1 mile away Whether you want to try your hand at surfing, walk some of the stunning Cornish Coast Path, celebrate a special occasion with friends or family or simply relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings, there is something for everyone on a holiday at Lower Northcott Farmhouse.

Access

Guests can access the house from the garden to the front door, but the most practical way in is via the back door, against our lane.

Ground floor

This entrance leads directly into a slated porch with room for coats and wellies, with 3 steps leading down to the kitchen with its slated floor, ornamental Aga and cooking and food preparation areas. It is fully equipped for large groups and has a double-range oven, a large fridge and a separate freezer in the porch area.

The kitchen leads through to the large dining room centred with a large dining room table to seat all, also with a cosy wood burner. There are two lounges, both also with wood burners and large widescreen TVs, deep set sofas, one overlooks the garden the second and largest lounge has double doors leading right out to the patio with spectacular views down the valley to Northcott Mouth beach, with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ in summertime.

The ground floor also has 1 twin bedroom; 2 single bedrooms; a family bathroom with over-bath raindrop shower; wc; shower room; access to annexe via the entrance porch with double bedroom and snug; enclosed garden with children’s play equipment.

First floor

There are two sets of stairs – from the front and rear of the farmhouse leading up to the first-floor landing, taking you to 2 large family bedrooms (with king-sized beds and 1 single bed -both with en-suite with walk-in raindrop showers); 2 double bedrooms with king-sized beds (1 en-suite, the other adjoined to one of the family bathrooms with bath, plus separate shower unit); 1 single bedroom; family bathroom with over-bath shower.

Additional Accommodation for larger group bookings

10 more guests can be accommodated in two smaller properties at the same location, on a large working farm on a country estate extending to 500 acres.

Things to Note

• Dogs welcome – up to 4 well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small charge of £20 a dog. Owners must bring their own dog basket or cage.
• Set on our working farm: guests can meet our cows, pigs, Ponies, and donkey.
• Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool and facilities at Court Farm, we advise booking between midday and 3pm as those are the quietest times.
• Friday weekly changeover mid-June to end Aug and all school holidays.
• Short breaks avail Sept-mid June excl. school hols.
