This large Luxury Self Catering Cottage centred in the Derbyshire Dales and edging the amazing Peak District National Park is one of the most beautiful self-catering character cottages within the Peak District and Derbyshire. A former disused workers bothy, this outstanding quality self-catering cottage is located amidst a peaceful rural setting within the grounds of our grade II listed farmhouse -just 2 miles from the historic market town of Ashbourne and close to Carsington Water.

There are many things to see and do in the area, walking, cycling, water activities, paint balling, quad bikes, laser tag, archery, golfing, historic houses, museums, steam trains and tram rides, adventure parks, golf, climbing, caves to name but a few something for everyone,

Surrounding Billys Bothy are large, landscaped gardens and pastureland and from these are outstanding views of the Henmoor valley and our nature lake across to Bradley Woods where both cattle, sheep and our cheeky donkeys graze peacefully on lush pastureland. We also have a large flower filled walled garden and garden lovers are invited to visit by appointment.

This delightful cottage is perfect for families, special celebrations, parties, hen parties, group bookings.

This red brick character cottage has windows with elegantly curved arches. All windows are double glazed, these coupled with a high standard of insulation with full central heating, underfloor heating and heated towel rails means we can offer you a very cosy and comfortable stay in a luxurious Derbyshire self-catering accommodation. A wood burning stove is provided in the lounge for use during colder evenings giving a warm ambience to the large comfortable sitting room. The floors are a mix of oak, stone and tiles adding to the character.

Billys lounge is beautifully furnished and has a large smart tv, ipod dock , CD player and Blue tooth speaker opens  out onto a large patio and orchard with beautiful wrought furniture for 16, a BBQ, fire pit and the hot tub is located here.

The dining room and kitchen are extremely well equipped with everything you will need for your self-catering experience.

Our unusual Peak District self-catering cottage has ground floor entrances to both floors and has 6 bedrooms, two double and two twins all with en-suite shower rooms that are tiled with elegant white wall tiles and contrasting black tiled floors.  The bathrooms, 5 with open showers and 1 with rolled top bath are beautifully fitted with chrome fixtures and fittings adding a touch of class and luxury. The bedrooms are furnished with handmade pine furniture in reclaimed antique wood, brass and cast iron beds add character to this beautiful cottage. All rooms have co-ordinated furnishings and linen which complement the beds and lighting.

The total sleeping capacity of this fabulous self-catering cottage in the stunning Derbyshire Dales is for 12 plus 4. There are four bed chairs within the bedrooms giving a total sleeping capacity of 12 + 4 + 2 travel cots.  Prices quoted are for 5 bedrooms sleeping 10 plus 3. The 6th annex bedroom to give sleeping for up to 16 is an extra £75 per night.  

The main entrance to this self-catering cottage is on the ground floor in the centre of the house with a spectacular feature galleried staircase leading up to the kitchen. The oak staircase and large oak front door and surround make a wonderful feature to the cottage entrance and can be viewed from almost all rooms within the cottage.

All electricity, heating, logs, linen and towels are included in the price. There is ample car parking for guests, we would ask that care be taken whilst parking due to children and pets that may be in the vicinity.

Children are most welcome at all our self-catering cottages, although it is asked that guests take extra care of the children as there are large grounds, animals and vehicles Within our grounds is a large nature pond – no children are allowed at this pond unaccompanied by an adult. If you have young children, you may request to have your garden area fenced off for extra safety – please don’t hesitate to ask! Please refer to the safety folder in the house for full instructions.

For the hard of hearing, a hearing device is now available to assist with your enjoyment of TV and music. Please request this before arriving in order that it can be fully charged for use.
